Legal Expertise

Patrick has experience across a diverse range of corporate and commercial areas, encompassing litigation, compliance, fraud, insolvency, construction projects, corporate structuring and substantial share and asset acquisitions.

Patrick has acted for major accounting firms, large UK and US multinationals, one of the world’s largest building materials companies, and many LSE- and ASX-listed companies. He has extensive experience working for mineral and resource companies in sub-Saharan Africa.

He has given talks and lectures regarding fraud and corruption protections in businesses with a particular focus on west Africa. He also has experience with mediation and litigation of cross-border project disputes, as well as commercial arbitration.

In addition to his work in the law, Patrick has a degree in economics majoring in international business economics.

Practical Experience

Since joining Blackwall Legal, Patrick’s major focus has been on corporate and commercial litigation where he has acted on a number of banking and finance litigation processes, as well as insolvency matters including unfair preference claims and insolvent trading actions against directors.

Prior to his return to Perth in 2016, Patrick worked for six years in Europe. In Birmingham, Patrick worked extensively in the private corporate transactional sector. As part of the team at Eversheds LLP he acted for private equity funds and other financiers, as well as trade buyers and sellers and companies in distress.

In Brussels, he was part of the in-house team for HeidelbergCement. He also practised in corporate transaction and commercial litigation, providing corporate and commercial advice for projects based across Africa and the Middle East. His global experience and strategic thinking ensures the highest quality in outcomes.
