Mallika is a commercial litigation and dispute resolution lawyer with experience in a diverse range of litigation, insolvency and restructuring matters.

Mallika has acted for major accounting firms, banks and other financiers, employees of a multinational mining corporation, a major international engineering company, minority interest holders in a major forestry business, and a leading manufacturer of aluminium cladding products.

Mallika also has experience in advising on issues arising under the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth).

Recent work

Mallika’s recent work includes:

  • advising companies applying for admission to the Official List of ASX Ltd, including in relation to applications for in-principle advice, waivers and confirmations;
  • acting for a leading manufacturer of aluminium cladding on the defence of a large consumer law class action;
  • advising a major international engineering company in relation to defending and settling a substantial preference claim by the liquidators of an ASX listed construction company;
  • advising and representing multiple employees of a multinational mining corporation called by ASIC for compulsory examination pursuant to section 19 of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001 (Cth);
  • advising minority interest holders in a substantial forestry business in relation to the forcible dilution of their interest in the business and selective security enforcement; and
  • advising the trustee of two substantial family trusts with respect to the defence of multiple disputes brought by beneficiaries and multiple applications for directions in relation to the sale of certain trust assets and distributions to beneficiaries.
