Legal Expertise

Chris has experience across a diverse range of practice areas, encompassing listed company reconstructions, corporate structuring, substantial share and asset acquisitions, compliance, large scale health projects, commercial litigation, the drafting of legislation, and energy and resources projects on every continent.

Chris has acted for major accounting firms, several banks and other financiers, one of the world’s largest oil producers, the world’s oldest litigation funder, and many LSE- and ASX-listed companies.

He sits on the Law Council of Australia’s Insolvency and Reconstruction Committee and has lectured in commercial and corporate practice for the Leo Cussen Institute’s Articles Training Program.

In addition to his work in the law, Chris has a first-class honours degree in chemistry for research into communication between lawyers and scientists in both commercial and litigation settings.

 

Practical Experience

Since establishing Blackwall Legal in 2015, Chris’ practice has focused on corporate and commercial work for several ASX-listed, other public and private entities, along with individuals.

Chris also is equipped with three years of legal practice in Europe. Based in London from 2012, he established a niche corporate structuring and financing practice working with start-ups in the London and Cambridge technology hubs. He also practiced in energy and resources law, providing corporate and commercial advice for projects based across the world, with an emphasis on Africa and Europe.
